Kawhi Leonard left an extremely competitive Game 5 with about five minutes left in the fourth quarter, a substitution that could have been related to a left ankle injury suffered in the third quarter. Leonard did sub back into the game about a minute later, but then sat on the bench for the San Antonio Spurs’ final play and did not return to the game in overtime.
Here’s video of the injury, which caused Leonard to limp off the floor during a timeout. However, he stayed in the game coming out of the break.

Leonard is so important to everything the Spurs do on both sides of the basketball, and obviously, you know the ankle is clearly bothering him if he’s not playing.
For San Antonio, clearly making sure Leonard is 100 percent for the rest of this series is important, too.
