GRiZ Drops Incredible ‘Good Will Continue’ Remix Album Ft. Opiuo, Barclay Crenshaw, Boogie T & More

GRiZ’s exciting Good Will Continue remix album is finally here! A household name for future funk and overall electronic fans alike, this Detroit-born producer has been a TSIS favorite since we started covering music years ago. After watching him grow since then, it’s safe to say 2017 has been GRiZ’s biggest year yet. He started off strong back in January when he reunited with Gramatik to drop “As We Proceed,” which has remained one of the biggest tracks of the year so far. He hasn’t slowed down since, appearing on a staggering amount of festival lineups, announcing his two-day Red Rocks event (which will include his live band debut), hosting GRiZMAS in July and much, much more.

Today GRiZ has kept that momentum as strong as ever with the drop of Good Will Continue, the long awaited remix album that he announced a month ago in addition to sharing a track from the album: Opiuo’s psychedelic take on “PS GFY,” which we premiered on the site in July. The 13-track album features both familiar and fresh faces to the industry, with the reworks branching into genres of all kinds. Artists like AC Slater, Claude VonStroke as Barclay Crenshaw, Tommy Trash and more offer their takes on GRiZ favorites, with each bringing their own signatures ranging from house, trap, funk, electro house and more to the tracks. What results is a fantastically diverse offering that has a little something for everyone within. Check out Good Will Continue and the accompanying tour dates below. Enjoy!

ZHU Drops 4-Track ‘stardustexhalemarrakechdreams’ EP + Video For Relaunch Of Spotify’s ElectroNOW

Suprise! ZHU has just unleashed a new 4-track EP titled stardustexhalemarrakechdreams.

With a style that brings the more ghoulish elements of underground sound to the light, ZHU has captivated listeners around the world since he stepped into the industry back in 2014. Along with his boundary-pushing signature, the mysterious producer has never shied away from making statements through his branding. Just this year he called out a handful of mainstream artists in a video teasing one of his newest singles called “Nightcrawler,” hosted a mysterious Blacklizt warehouse party, shared downright unsettling videos for dark singles “Intoxicate” and “Dreamz” – the list goes on from there.

Today ZHU is back with another unique music rollout. He and Spotify are teaming up for the re-launch of their popular electroNOW playlist, which will now be known as mint.

“The launch of our flagship electronic playlist, mint, represents the unique pieces of the culture and the global audience that lives and breathes it,” said Austin Kramer, Global Head of Electronic. “Electronic music is incredibly diverse and ever-fresh. mint is the condition. Having ZHU a part of this launch was a natural fit as he embodies the culture, and has been introducing undeniable style.  Once you see the videos on mint, you’ll get it. There is no turning back now for dance music on Spotify and in the industry.” – Austin Kramer, Global Programming Head of mint

“ZHU is a pioneer so it only made sense when Spotify was choosing to rebrand their dance platform that they would come to him to lead the movement. Everything ZHU does is mint.” – Jake Udell, ZHU Manager

To go along with Spotify’s exciting playlist rebrand, ZHU has dropped his intense stardustexhalemarrakechdreams EP. The producer packs a wide array of sounds into a few short tracks, from the experimental, extraterrestrial “Stardust” to the bass-heavy collaboration with Nero “Dreamz,” which the artist teased nearly two months ago.

Three vertical music videos accompany the release, available for viewing exclusively via the Spotify app in the Mint playlist. Once again ZHU breaks all of the rules with these visual components. He presents disturbing imagery and stark color schemes that demand attention despite their sinister nature.

In his usual fashion, the producer is keeping details on his next album under wraps. After this, we can’t wait to see what his forthcoming project holds. Check out the EP below and enjoy!

[PREMIERE] Kill The Noise & Mat Zo Return As Kill The Zo With Heavy Remix Of Big Gigantic’s “Got The Love” (Ft. Jennifer Hartswick)

Today we have an special premiere off of a new project from Big Gigantic that we’re very excited for. Complementing their impressive album Brighter Future from last year, Big Gigantic has put together a collection of remixes of each track for a remix album due out August 30th, and today we have a first taste with a huge remix of “Got The Love” (feat. Jennifer Hartswick) from none other than Kill The Zo.

About three years ago, heavyweights Kill The Noise and Mat Zo teamed up to form a legendary project called Kill The Zo which proceeded to release only one single titled “Part 1”. Similar to “Part 1”, Kill The Zo’s latest offering exhibits an almost unbelievable level of sound design and production quality.

The duo have taken Big Gigantic’s original mix, ripped it apart and stitched it back together to create a perfect combination of their unique sounds. Starting off with an atmospheric organ and distant guitar riff, some energetic percussion and instrumental elements from the original quickly throw the track into a powerful drop filled with rumbling bass and heavy, distorted growls.

“This new KTZ remix has something for everyone, it’s a real journey. We want every Kill the Zo track to take the listener to new places, but this kinda took that idea to the extreme.” – Mat Zo

In addition to the KTZ remix, Big Gigantic’s Brighter Future remix album will feature new takes on each track from the likes of Manic Focus, KRANE, Sweater Beats, Pham and more including the remixes we’ve already heard from Kasbo and Naderi. Look out for the full release on August 30th along with a deluxe release that includes both the original Brighter Future tracks along with all the remixes.

See the full tracklist for Big Gigantic’s Brighter Future remix album and stream the Kill The Zo remix of “Got The Love” (feat. Jennifer Hartswick) below. Enjoy!

Big Gigantic Announces Partnership With Ableton And Native Instruments To Raise Money For Denver’s Youth

In addition to being some of the most seasoned creators in the electronic industry and longtime TSIS favorites, producer/live performance duo Big Gigantic has always given back to communities across the nation in big ways.

Shortly after their fifth studio album, Brighter Future, dropped last fall, the two announced A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation (ABGDF), an extension of “A Big Gigantic Difference” that initially began giving back to communities over the past few years. The foundation took this movement forward by turning it into a nonprofit.

The Brighter Future tour subsequently raised over $20,000 for different nonprofits and other initiatives around the country in 2016. They continued this momentum in December of last year with “A Brighter Future Holiday,” a Denver performance that encouraged fans to donate coats/toys and donated some of the proceeds to ABGDF.

This week Big Gigantic announced their most recent initiative to give back through ABGDF: an exciting new partnership with Ableton and Native Instruments with the goal of raising over $50,000 for Youth on Record (YOR) by the end of 2017.

“Using the platform we have to raise awareness of issues in our community has always been important to us. We wanted to choose one larger project to raise funds for. Music and art programs are disappearing from Colorado schools, which means many kids are left without a creative outlet in school. That is something deeply saddening to us. With the help of our ABGDF team, we found Youth on Record, a nonprofit in Denver that provides music classes of all types for Colorado students who don’t have access to music at their school. A permanent computer lab at Youth on Record will be an invaluable tool for Colorado’s future young music makers; we’re proud to team up with our fans to make it a reality.” – Big Gigantic

YOR is a Denver-based organization that provides music-based education and equipment for Denver’s at-risk youth. According to a press release, the $50,000 will be used to complete the YOR computer lab, which provides essential tools for students to learn about music production and more. Both Ableton and Native Instruments will be donating software and other equipment to complete the lab, including discounted licenses and Komplete Audio 6 interfaces.

We can’t wait to see what Big Gigantic is able to accomplish for Denver’s youth this year. As of today, ABGDF has raised over $20,000, but still has a ways to go to hit their $50,000 goal. If you’re looking to give back and would like to donate, you can do that here.

[PREMIERE] Ephwurd Drops Bass House Mix Ahead Of Upcoming Shambhala Performance

Today we are premiering an exciting new mix from Ephwurd. The duo consists of all-star producers Datsik and Bais Haus and have graced us with a filthy mix to gear us up for their performance at Shambhala this upcoming weekend. Ephwurd have come a long way since premiering their track “Just Us” with us two years ago. Their recent releases and gigs, including a remix of GRiZ & Big Gigantic and a killer set at Lollapalooza over the weekend, have shown us how the duo manage to keep their momentum going. This energy translates directly into their mixes and is highly evident in the one we’ve been given today.

What really stands out about this mix is that it’s all Ephwurd; every single song in this bangin’ 25-minute mix is an Ephwurd original or remix. They’ve included hit singles like “Rock The Party,” fan favorites such as their remix of “Don’t Let Me Down,” and four of their own unreleased tracks. They start the mix off with a bang, throwing in two IDs back-to-back. From there, they continue to keep the energy high with pumping kicks, wobbling bass, and gliding synths. If this epic mix is any indication of what to expect of Ephwurd’s performance at Shambhala, attendees are in for a treat. Stay tuned for more info, check the mix out now below, and enjoy!

Illenium Shares Infectious New Original “Crawl Outta Love” Feat. Annika Wells

After an undeniable breakout year earned him a spot on our list of the best electronic albums of 2016, it’s no secret that Illenium, AKA Nick Miller, had big shoes to fill going into this year. The Denver-based artist proved early on in 2017 that he’s just getting started, dropping his emotive single “Fractures” back in February. The producer hasn’t slowed down since, releasing track after track of compelling work including “Feel Good” with Gryffin, a powerful remix of Flume’s “Say It,” a massive collaboration with Zeds Dead titled “Where The Wild Things Are” and much more. And he’s recently shared the exciting news he has a new album AWAKE coming soon – see tracklist below.

Today Illenium proves once again that he’s a force to be reckoned with, sharing yet another impressive release “Crawl Outta Love” feat. Annika Wells, a young vocalist based out of LA.

“Crawl Outta Love” is yet another example of why Illenium dominates the melodic bass style. He combines some live instrumentation with the production, setting a warm mood with a simple piano melody paired with Wells’s vocals. Each drop embodies what makes the melodic genre so captivating – the synth builds are brimming with both a power and tenderness that sounds great mixed with the chopped up vocal samples.  In addition to this, there are big rises and falls of energy within this track, allowing the drops to stand out in stark contrast with the vocals. Check out the new single below. Enjoy!
